Gift Wrapping Inspo

This year I decided to give myself some creative freedom and wrap all my presents differently. My holiday Pinterest board helped to inspire me, and now I want to inspire you! I think everyone’s to-do list this week includes gift wrapping, so here are a few simple DIY ideas to help you get started.

Gold Painted

I got my inspiration from this post by My Domaine. I took a flat tipped paint brush and some gold paint, laid it out flat, and painted until I got the desired effect. The faster you go, the better.

All Wrapped Up

I liked this effect so much, I used it on two presents! I just picked up some string from HomeSense and wrapped it around the package multiple times. I also added a few Christmas-y details that I found at a craft store.

An Over-the-Top Detail

I found this giant bow at a craft store and just stuck it to the top. You could use anything for this- a handful of Christmas tree ornaments, a giant candy cane, a stocking… The possibilities are endless! Also, this one is really easy to open, unlike the string wrapped ones.

When There’s More Than One Gift…

This was an old school record and a box of chocolates that I gave to my roommate. I wanted the gift to have contrasting paper and minimal details, so I taped the brown package to the white and tied the string around a branch from a pine tree!

Love all of these but especially the all wrapped up one! So creative…this year, for some reason, I am worse at wrapping presents and have frequently mis-judged the amount of paper I need and had to tack on little pieces to cover up the blank spots…lol

Thanks, Shannon! I’m the one who usually “wraps” her gifts in gift bags… but this year I decided that I needed to step my game up!
